A hitchhiker, the pic is not clear or close up enough because the guy is way back on one of the back live rocks and my camera is not good enough to zoooooooom in so you have to use your imagination a little. I had to crop the huge photo down to about 5% so what you are seeing is the small center of the photo.

Size: Approx 1 1/4 tip of tentacle to tip of tentacle
Color: Black with pink and white bands/splotches
Number of tentacles: 7?!?
Appearance of tentacles: Spiny, fluffy.. in a spiny sort of way
Behaviour: Lays back until particles land on spiny tentacles, then jams each tentacle all the way into it's mouth one by one (looks painful)

This creature also has little top-tentacle things that are very short that it combs it's longer tentacles with as it jams the longer tentacles into it's mouth.

It's very weird. If nobody can ID it, I'm going to borrow my Dad's humungo-zoom camera and get you a electron microscope quality pic. :D

Looks like a Pencil Urchin to me from the pic but it is extremely hard to see. Common hitchhiker on FL aquacultured LR..

HTH,
James

Yeah, the pic stinks. I'll get a big zoom on that thing and get back to y'all.

Stand by for bigger and better pics.
