"Lettuce" like algae?

I just finished up doing a maintenance on the 125g reef and found this strange, thick algae growing on my thermometer and along the underside of the rim on top. It almost looks like macroalgae but i dont have any of this type in my refugium. :-( It's not on any other surface other than those mentioned.

Is it Ok to remove it and is it a sign of anything unbalanced does anyone think?

it's fine to remove it, and it is macroalgae. looks like ulva to me.

Where does it come from? I don't have any Ulva in the refugium or in the tank? I removed a hadnful of the stuff yesterday after all was said and done.

It hitch hiked in on something. Toss it in the sump. Yet another freebie!
