looks like an earthworm

When moving to a larger tank last night I found 2 large worms burried in my substrate. They look very similar to earthworms. I called my local shop and he said they are probably fire worms and I should get rid of them.
 
Sorry, I do not know what your worms are but I also live in AZ. What LFS do you use? I found the best BY FAR is aquatouch. :D
 
I also have several similar worm like creatures in my sand. They are segmented, giving them their worm like appearance, but they have what look like white furry legs on either side of each body segment. They have grown exponentially and I worry they may cause a problem. Any ideas??
