There is a huge blenny at my lfs. He called it a mother blenny, I cannot find any info on this fish. He looks just like a scooter but is about 7-8 inches, has anyone heard or kept one of these? Are they just like a regular blenny, and do they get along with a scooter and a mandrin? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there any way to get a pic of it next time you go to the LFS. I`m going to move this to the ID forum.

The only reference I found for a "Mother Blenny" is Neosynchiropus occelatus, which is an "Ocellated Dragonet" or "Scooter Blenny." If so, it might just be a rarely encountered extra large version or, as Mike stated, a pic would be needed to verify exact sp. You can also ask the lfs owner to contact his supplier and they should be able to provide a better I.D.
