We bought a blue sponge about a month ago and recently this red cone has popped up on the same rock.
Its a bright red, brighter near the top than the bottom. It slightly expands and contracts periodically... Maybe filter feeding. Has an opening at the top (mouth?)
Any ideas on what it is?

Thx for the suggestion ;) I checked out chili coral pics and most of them polyps. This thing doesn't have polyps. It has a fairly smooth surface.
