Mystery fish

I was perusing liveaquarias WYSIWYG section and this little guy was on icon u click for the fish, but he wasn't in the actual section. Anyone have any idea what he is, it is the cutest looking thing I have ever seen. He looks a bit like some kind of hawkfish but I'm not sure.

Will do. I just sent them an email, so we'll see if they respond.

Liveaquaria replied, finally I've been checking my email all day lol. Apparently it's a gumdrop coral croucher and is actually in the scorpion fish family. Here's their link for info on it.

That looks awesome! This is weird though. I can get to that link, but when I press on the scorpionfish section, it doesn't show it. Same happens for the moorish idol and other fish. Really weird.

I think that unless they have it in stock it won't show up on the website.

Yes, it's a croucher (Caracanthus sp. - family Caracanthidae) I'll see if I can come up with a species identification, though I recall there are several very similar species with red spots. They are great fish to keep. I once had one (over 20 years ago) - it had come in to a Sydney aquarium store as a small juvenile mixed with Gobiodon species. Lots of personality.
