Hi all,
I just bought a 90g reef tank and I do not know what most of the corals are in it. I hope some people can help me out!

Yes, it's better than what I knew before!

The leathers and softies are hard to tell when they are pissed like that. Will be easier when they open up more
1. Finger leather?
2. Blue/pom pom xenia?
3. Misc. Paly
4. Some types of encrusting montipora (better ID when they color up)
5. Kenya Tree
6. Blue Shrooms
7. Montipora (reverse sunset?)
8. Green birdsnest left pink birdsnest right
9. Is killing me, I want to say Spongodes. I just saw a nice colony of this somewhere just the other day.
10. Misc Zoanthids
11. Blue clove polyps (hard to tell)
12. Tree coral? (softy or leather of some type)
13. Is this one actually hard or soft? Closer pic would help.
14. Cauliflower colt?
15. Some type of cap/monti when it colors up we will be able to tell.
16. Same as 9
17. Brown/common Xenia
18. misc paly/zoa
19. misc paly/zoa

Can't really argue with any of Jimbo's IDs.

On #13, I'm not really sure what piece we're talking about.
On #11, looks *kinda* like Blue Clove/Snowflake polyps due to the coloration, but the ones I have don't look like that when they're closed up. But they are definitely some variant of Anthelia or Sansibia or that group.

Wow, thanks for all the ID's! I know the image in 13 is hard to see, when I get a chance, I will post another one that is a llittle clearer.

Thanks Kurt. I agree on #11, It was just my best guess, looks a lot like my BCP's in the morning.

I'm excited to see what your montis look like when they color up. It's always a fun lottery to see what you get.

Pretty good, I dont think any of them are montis tho, I think they're all types of porites sp.

Porites don't usually have that type of polyp extension and the variation of colors between the base and the polyps.
The only one that could be porites IMO is the one of the right in picture 4, and even then i still don't think it is.

The giant white mass in 14 looks like a porite skeleton.

Now that is a piece of rock.....really....LOL....it was bury in the sand and didn't have much color so I flipped it around because I liked the shape better. I do have some white stuff that I need to take another photo of to help get an ID on. Not too sure if it's living or just some type of glue/adhesive that was used at one time. Looks funky though. 8O

lol I realize that it is a rock, but a lot of reef rock is made up of old coral skeletons. It could have been a living piece 10 years ago or a hundred years ago.

I have a couple large sized acro skeletons on some shelf rock I have.
