oh wow really my tank has been up for 6months now and there's a ton of them. do u think I could get a mandarin dragonet ?

I have never had one, but from what I read they eat 1000 plus a day and need very established tanks.

They eat mostly copepods, which are much smaller than the amphipods. Although i have seen mine take down a huge amphipod once. If you look really close, and you see tiny lice-like looking bugs, those are the ones you'll need for a mandarin. How big is your tank?

oh yea I do see those little ones too. I have a 55gal tanks and CPR/skimmer with built in refugium

I would wait awhile. And amphipods and Copepods are really good scavengers.
