These are growing in the filter area of a 12 gallon nano cube. Nothing weird going on inside the tank that resembles these that are growing in the filter area. They are about 1/8", white with a couple pinchers for a head. There are hundreds. Some smaller.

Any idea what these are?

Thanks everybody.

Thank you so much! I did a google image search for Scypha and Pineapple Sponge and I think that is what they are. There are so many in the filter area I am concerned they will over run everything. I read they are harmless, but they are multiplying like crazy.

I'm sure you can manually remove some if you think they are ugly. But yes, they are harmless. Glad I could help!

Over time there population will go down. Natural thing that happens and it means your system is healthy.
