Orange Sponge

I was walking up to my tank and a small spot of spongy orange stuff was releasing a yellow substance into the tank. It is very near to the intake for the filter and it was sucked up immediatly. What is this? Poison?

Male sponges can release plumes of sponge-sperm and sponges can also release toxins into the water if aggravated.

I would suspect it was not the toxins, and it was just spooging into the water.
