Oceanicsublimat has fishy dreams
Red, flat, long legged crab.

Every night there's this crab that is red in color and kinda flat lookin with tiny claws and long legs that is eating the seaweed and the other macro in this one crop.. and this joker really can eat too, lol.. Any thoughts as to what kind of crab eats macro and is that color and shape? Again, sorry for no pic..My expensive digital camera seems to have bit the perverbial dust...

Well, from your description it sounds like a sally lightfoot, except for teh color. Perhaps a related species. I know that's not an answer really but crabs are very hard to [acronym:16d80da6e8="Identify"]ID[/acronym:16d80da6e8] even with a picture.

yeah.. It resembles the Sally, like u said but the color..

agree...sallylightfoot can raelly go after algea,i put one in my 75g which got a hair algea problem and it cleans up most of them in about a week.
Maybe the color is more like a hot brown? so u think its red?

well.. more red than not I suppose.. tiny little claws though..not as flat as the pic that I've seen of the sally either..I also have observed it scavenging..
