I've got these red tufts growing on one of my live rocks. At first I thought it was hair algae, but after looking through the web, I don't think it fits the description. It's definitely growing, slowly but surely. I've tried to brush it off with a toothbrush, but it doesn't come off! It feels coarse, like bristles. Any ideas? Good, bad, ugly? I could always take out the rock and try to scrape it off with something sharp, but I don't want to do anything drastic until I'm sure of what this is. Thanks in advance.

So it's not harmful to your knowledge? Ok. That's the important thing. I've also got some tiny green tufts growing on the same live rock. You can't see it well on the picture. Too small to focus on it. But it literally looks like little tufts of lawn, thick blades, not hair algae either. Any ideas? Sorry no picture available.
