See the "wanted" crab behind the star....What kind of crab?
The first photo is him looking away from the star.
The second is it in its cave with the food we had for the star!
Wife does not like these hairy crabs.

Hard to tell. Could be a stone crab, the dark claw tips make it look like some type of xanthid crab. Either way it's likely a scavenger/predator crab. Make sure you cut up extra to keep him fed.

I read somewhere that any crab with hair is not a good reef crab.. I know that is not a scientific or knowledgable answer.. There are so many kinds of crabs out there that you may never know what kind it is. Good luck trapping that sucker.. Crabs are cool but can be mean and nasty buggers.

Pointed claws, usually a bad sign - as opposed to rounded claw from what I've consistently heard.
