Small Black Eggs?

Hello, I hope someone can help.

I have attached a picture of what looks like small black eggs. They were not there yesterday and appeared over night. My tank is a marine nano (20 gallons) and only been set up a couple of months. I have 1 blue cheeked goby, 2 peculiar clowns, 2 hermit crabs and a dancer shrimp. I also have 2 small pieces of live rock.

Does anyone know what they are?

It looks like carbon from the filter

There is no carbon in the filter and it's nowhere else in the tank.

That has to be some sort of carbon, but that's just what I see

Well, they are not eggs. I would assume that it is something that came into the system that was blown up there from the sandbed or from out of the rocks. You can see it is coarse, so it would be either a sand or activated carbon as previously mentioned.

Or poop. It could have been stirred up from digging. It looks like poop to me.

Maybe magnet particlesfrom a mag float or glass scrubber. Mine always do that after the edges start wearing off

Some times there is carbon inside the filter pad, some comes like that from the factory.
