Snail ID
I was given a handful of these snails which were supposed to be Nassarius snails.
I know the pic is small for the snail [acronym:dff77cf044="Identify"]ID[/acronym:dff77cf044] but they are small guys, they look nothing like the pictures that swfish.com has for Nassarius snails. They can bury themselves in the substrate, and do have a little elephant trunk, but i never see them stop to munch on anything... and when they move, they are always ontop of the sand. any ideas?

Look like Nassarius to me. Check them out real close and see if they have a black/white speckle pattern to them, if they do they could be a whelk. I just picked up 9 Nass. for my Nano and they are small but seem to be doing a good job of keeping the sand nice!

there are some funny things about these guys..
I had some base rock from hirocks.com that i glued some of my new [acronym:5c0952d7dd="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frags[/acronym:5c0952d7dd] to... as soon as i put it down on the sand, they swarmed... well atleast 10 of them came to check out the new rock and crawl all over it kinda funny to watch though
