I just bought a frilly mushroom rock, and I found a snail looking thing in the water in the bag when I got home. I plopped in my tank thinking it was a snail. Last night, after seeing it under the moonlights, I'm not so sure. It has an oval shaped shell that only covers the top of it's body (the shell is mostly white/greyish). The "foot" is white with a little grey, and the front of the "snail" has two long antennae or feelers that look like small cat whiskers (about i inch long). The feelers are as long as the body. It is also very fast moving and doesn't seem to be eating algae or anything. What could it be ????

Stometella varia (I may have spelled that wrong, its' early). They are very nice hitchhiking snails. Hard core algae grazers and they will reproduce in your tank. HTH
