Some interesting critters living in my overflow

I was doing a water change this weekend and I noticed some little critters living in the sponge in my overflow cup. I think they're brine shrimp, since I remember putting some brine shrimp eggs in there for my mandarin a while back. I could be totally wrong. Here are some pictures:

I'd doubt they are brine shrimp. Too flat looking and I've never seen any species of shrimp that lays flat on something.

They are pods. Probably copepods.

I thought they might be pods. The reason I suspected otherwise is because the looked different than the pods in my refugium. I have no idea what brine shrimp look like still alive.

Amphipods. For sure.

[PS... Even with a quasi-high speed connection, it sure takes a while for 2x 3+ Mb pictures to load. Can you please start downsizing your pictures before posting? If you still want to keep the detail, then just crop and downsize. Pleeeeeeeze.....?]
