So, I was looking at my live rock earlier and noticed something new.

I don't have a picture yet but I'll try and get one.

It has a short stem and on top it's a flat red disc with some fine tentacle-like things coming off it.

That's my best description lol.

It also has a little dot in the middle of it.

I know it's a vague description but, anyone?

It's definetely not an Aiptasia, I've had and killed one of them.

It's alot different, it's small and stubby, it has a wide base, it's opening is only a little wider than it's base right now, it has a tiny dot in the centre of the disc and it has tiny little tentacles around the disc, maybe about 6-8 of them.

It's also bright red (disc/head only)

Maybe it's a type of small polyp? It looks a little like my yellow button polyps except it's base is short and so are it's tentacles.

Oh, well that is a good possibility too. If so, congrats. Awesome freebee. I have a colony of zoas that showed up one day. I noticed two little "things" that ended up being zoas. They have now grown into 15.

A few pictures, not the best quality I know but I suppose it's better than nothing.

The middle picture is the highest resolution, might help a bit.

Still hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks as though you might have a red mushroom.

Doesn't seem to be.

New pics, wonder what it is?
