Something wierd with my mushrooms

Last night there was a hermit crab on my green mushroom. Everyone he touched some thing would come out of the center of the mushroom. It was brown with white trim on it. Then about 1 min. later it went back into tthe mushroom. What the heck isit?

It's called acontia aka mesnterial filiments, they are the digestive filiments of the shroom, it is a common defense mechanism for shrooms and other corals, they basically digest other corals and critters outside their body
