Sponge?

I had this growing since the beginning of summer and it getting bigger and bigger. It might have came with the the lr but i don't remember seeing it when i place that lr into the tank. I just saw it appeared one day

Sponges hitchhike their way into our tanks on liverock and corals. I don't know what species it is but it looks like and encrusting species and possibly one of the ones that eventually turn blue. It's a low light sponge and not very invasive. Normally they just stay on the back or bottom areas of the live rock. Sorry I can't give you a species name.
 
I have several in my tank. They are very beneficial as filter feeders in your tank.
 
Thats a nice one, i have some greens and blacks, like others said, will help filter your water. I would think it as a good sign you are doing well in the hobby.
