Starfish Identification

Can anyone identify the starfish in this picture? My wife bought it about a month ago and she can't remember what the person at the [acronym:9ad6eb4d59="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:9ad6eb4d59] said it was.

[acronym:9ad6eb4d59="Thanks in Advance"]TIA[/acronym:9ad6eb4d59],

Bob

P.S. I posted this in the General Discussion area, but no one knew what it was.

Looks like a type of Bali Star. Not considered reef safe.

We, as a people, know so much more about outer space than we do about our own oceans. This lack of knowledge can very well spell the dangers that lay in wait for us.

The oceans surely would swallow us before a rock comes down to smite the planet of it's life.

it seems to me one of the Protoreastor which prey on invertabrates, remove it fast unless u don't really mind adding hermit or snail every few weeks =) but they do looks kewl tho. here is ur refrence link,
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/seastars2.htm
scroll down and u should find it there, different color (might caused by ur light) but i am sure they are they same family.
