Strange algae

Can someone please tell me what's growing on this torch coral?

It's white. Kinda looks like spiderwebs or mucous

I think it's sponge.

Mr. X, it looks like the spider webs that you see in the corner of a house or a something that is thick and has a tunnel. Like this

That hole is probably the osculum. It's what They pass water through to filter food out of it.

It doesn't have a hole, I showed you a picture of a spider web to see what the "sponge" is made out of. Are you sure it's sponge ?

It's sponge. No doubt. There are a lot of varieties than grow differently that you will find in our tanks. But that is defiantly sponge.

Isn't a tunnel a big hole?

If you look here you will see many different sponges, all with different textures, colors, and size holes.

Thick and has a tunnel was describing the spider web. The algae/sponge thing is just growing over the rock. Looking like its made out of the same stuff as the spider web described.

But it's not. Touch it. It probably feels waxy.
