This picture is posted in getting started, but I figured it might get some different visibility here in the ID forum.

I have been trying to get a decent picture of this shrimp for a few months, and he is usually between 2 rocks with just his claws sticking out, or out at night where the camera doesnt take good pictures.

I have cruised wetwebmedia for some sort of ID but have failed.

Anyone able to ID this guy?

Thanks!

doesnt look like a banded shrimp to me at all

I thought the same, but what did I know...

FYI this is the way it has always looked, it has never had any other arms/claws or other appendages

I posted in your other thread and still have no clue. It doesn't look like a banded to me either. :?

No, lots of shrimp have those claws. Cave shrimp being one that come to mind. With so many species, it's impossible to just dump them all into one category just because they have one thing in common. JMO
mykpoz, you have a pm.

Me and steve-s agree that it is possibly in the Periclemenes family, just can't find anything closer...

Anyone have any books available with Periclemenes in them?
