I am new to saltwater and I feel like a fish out of water!! I have a 30 gallon tank I recently (last week) got new live rock from a local place. I think I got a few hitchhikers with it!! First are the bristle worms I looked into those and I am undecided what to do with them (any opinions) then come the "baby star fish" they are a whitish gray green color and vary in size, next are the "baby or tiny feather dusters" and lastly I have no clue what they are. I am going to post pictures. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!!

the main thing I would be worried about would be the star fish.. Can't tell if it's a brittle or a serpent.. Serpent are supposed to be 'fish friendly' mine has killed two fish and I am getting rid of him.

There are a bunch in there I've seen about 4 so far....I am going to try and look up differences but since they are so small I can't see enough to really tell. Thank you for the comment

well, serpent starfish are considered to be the most friendly, but I assume because I have a light feeding schedule, he went after my fish.. However, if it is a brittle sea star, they are much more notorious for killing fish.. Just something to keep an eye out for

That's some live rock, I think everything in there is fine. Couple pix I wasn't sure what it was. Green brittle star is the one you don't want rest will be good cuc.

Its seems a serpent star... These and brittle can be ok i tend to pull them out when near to the top of tank other than that they have never caused me a problem other than making patches in my coralline algae

Any idea what the tentacle looking thinks are coming out of the tubes they stretch out a couple of inches long and look almost transparent

Spionid worms - harmless tube worms. Really quite cool. They usually extend when feeding.

all the stuff on your rock in the pictures are harmless. Those starfish don't get any bigger than that and are scavengers. They won't hurt anything. Neither will bristle worms. Free "clean up crew", if there's such a thing.

Thank you everyone!! I appreciate the comments!!

definitely keep the bristle worms. they are the only cuc member that can clean the inside of the rock and stop detritus from settling there!
