I wish I had a better pic but they are far back in the tank. Anyway two little things that look just like power line poles or sailing ship masts just popped up out of nowhere. Very weird. About 1 inch tall each.

Anyone know what they are? I am betting some kind of worm??

OK, the more I think about it and look at em, they sure seem to be more calciferous and brittle looking, and not like a worm. Plus, they don't seem to move.

I thought maybe they were the industrial, bare bones version of a Christmas tree worm. LOL

But they appear to be some kind of a coral growth with all 90 degree angles.

Nopers, I have a buncha vermetids and know their face well and these ain't it. hehe

Here is a more closeup pic that will help us all out (it even surprised me to see what it looks like this close up!) Looks like some kind of little coral growth! Whaddya think?

Nice pic. The first thing that comes to mind is some sort of algae - maybe a calcareous algae similar to Halimeda (obviously not Halimeda itself).

I'm really not sure, but I'll try poking in some books.

Ah so... that makes sense. Esp since it is growing so fast!

I will be lookin' too.

Thanks!
