what is it??
My tank has formed some kind of white spots all over the tank, the spots are hard and look like big pieces of salt and they stick to the walls of the tank. I have had them for weeks now and i dont believe its ich, what could it be????
could it be some kind of calcium build up?? |

Are the spots only white? or is there some pink to it? I am thinking you have coraline (spell?) algae, which is a good algae!

Sounds like small calcerous tube worms, if you look closely do they have a spiral shape? you should also see the very small crown of a tube worm poking out from time to time. They are neither good nor bad, but are very common in [acronym:3ab755947e="Fish only with live rock"]FOWLR[/acronym:3ab755947e] and Reef tanks

I had them on the back glass, because it was the only pain of glass that didn't get cleaned. kinda reminds me of paint splatter. they never hurt anything in my tank.
