I think it's a type of coral it came on one of the feather dusters.

And this is a hermit of some kind the picture is fuzzy but it has white and brownish vertical stripes on it's legs and dark tips on it's claws. It's about the size of a ping pong ball (shell and crab).

No idea on the coral. Pic is too small and out of focus.

If that hermit is the size of a ping pong ball, chances are it is not reef safe.

That could be some kind of leather coral but I can't really tell.

The hermit being that big is dangerous. Reef hermits are usually small and the scarlet is probably a better choice over the blue leg. Even if that hermit is reef safe, because of it's size it will likely knock things over in your tank.

These might be better. The coral ( not sure if it is) is flat and hard with purple, pink, and blue shading. Looking at where it was broken/cut it appears to be hollow. id 2 004.jpg

And these might be better pictures of the crab.id 2 006.jpgid 2 005.jpg Thats standard egg crate behind him.
Would a 2 1/2 gal tank be ok to put him into, or should we take him back to the LFS?
