Poke it if it doesn't move and is soft it is most likely a sponge like q tip or pineapple. If it moves don't poke it again.

I would guess at sponges. From the photo they look pretty tiny. Leave and see if they grow or die.

I agree with sponges. I have them in my tank. Great filter feeders.
