what is sprouting on this coral please explain to me

The algae? Halimeda algae, a calcarous form that grows well with adequate calcium and lighting.
 
Algae hey?? I kinda like it it looks like a plant more than an algae but I guess lots of algae's look like plants this one is not a problem for me just needed an ID
 
Make sure you keep it trimmed. Pieces of it will turn white, clip and remove them.

Be careful not to confuse their sexual reproductive or necrotic phase with that of their nocturnal appearance, which is also white.
 
I didn't know that. If it is white (in spots) well after lights on, is that necrotic?
 
It can take several minutes to several hours for the gray-white nocturnal appearance to color back in; however, if parts stay white then reproduction is a possibility.
