I was looking at my tank today watching all the pods move about on the glass and I noticed this little "bug" Any ideas on what it is? An is it harmful?

It's an isopod of some kind, the exact species I couldn't tell you though.

I honestly coudn't tell you, I don't know what the exact species it is. By and large, most isopods are actually detritus feeders and not parasitic. You can either play wait and see or remove it. A google image search might yield some possitive results. Looks like it might be a Munnid species?

I think I'll have to play the waiting game. There are way too many of them to try and get them all out. I guess I will see what happens. I guess they just popped up since there are no fish in the tank at this point in time.

More than likely these are a good thing. Not to worry..

Looks like Steve hit pretty close on the Identity of the ones you have. In the future you will see many different types of them.
