what is this growth?

just came out of my new live rock about 2 weeks ago. comes out only during daylight (lights on) hours.

I have the same thing going on. Took a pic to my lfs and they said either Kenyan tree coral or something like iodide something or other...not sure what he meant. Hope someone can identify for us.
