what is this stuff

started saltwater tank about 3 weeks ago, I bought the premade water from local pet store, added live rock and live sand, set up filter. all was good let it sit for 2 weeks then did a water test and was just a little under needed to add a little salt. so I added salt. then the next day I noticed little white plastic looking stuff florin around then I saw it was acumilating on the filter and also see that it's coming out of the filter as well so what's going on I have a drum filter with the uv ray light
I have a 30 gal tank and a filter to handle up ton55gal.

Residue of some kind from the salt mix. Normally the stuff that sticks to the sides of all of our mix buckets. Harmless stuff.

I'm ready to add fish and then that happend. so just had to ask! thanks

Just brush it off with a toothbrush. Mechanical filtration will remove it.
