The HQIs, I believe, are 150W, but I'm not 100% sure. And yes, all of the food is eaten within a few minutes. When I use a clam I let them pick at it for the evening, but they usually have it pretty cleaned up within an hour. Thats one of my biggest problems b/c people (relatives) keep getting me fish for my tank, so before you know it I have a bunch, and it seems like by the time one or two minutes has gone by that they eat a high volume of food.

I've never tried using different photoperiods for the HQIs and the actinics before. So you're saying to have the actinics on for like a 6 hr period during the day and the HQIs on for a 8 to 10 hour period? Would this be a permanent change?

My water is RO/DI, and I try to do 15% partial water changes weekly or atleast every two weeks. I haven't had any time these two days to do water checks, two night classes and work. So I'll post those as soon as I can. Thanks!
