So my tank is not quite two weeks old and I'm a complete noob at this. Most of the reading I've done says to wait three weeks to cycle the tank before putting anything in it but the algae is growing pretty fast, should I get something sooner rather than later to mow that down?
Also, I did get a couple hitchhikers with my live rock that have become very active; I've also noticed these circled 'hills' in the algae on the sand; anybody know what/why that is?

Looks like diatoms. Completely normal. They'll go away after they've eaten all the nutrients they feed off of. Just a normal stage of a new tank.
