white ball

I bought caulerpa the other day and there was also this white ball in the calerpa. Any ideas on what it is? I'm hoping its not an egg of some sea monster that will hatch and eat everything in my tank.

Definitely a sea monster egg.

Actually It looks like a sponge... harmless if it is.
