I noticed a few days ago I have a whit object about the size of a quarter growing on the bottom side of a piece of LR. The object is white with a brown hading nd is smooth. It is not soft but not to hard either. Anyone have any idea what thi might be without a picture? Also do you think its good or bad?

If it's on the bottom of your LR it's probably a sponge.

Probably a sponge. They come in various colors and shapes and most grow in low light areas.

I had the same, I think. Does it look kind of like mold and is a little transparent? That was the first thing my urchins mowed down.

I agree, a pic will help, but I have had that, and it is very hard to get a pic. I agree with Devilishturtles, it probably is a sponge, but without a pic, it is not 100%.

My money is on sponge too. I have one much like Seriousdude5 described, my camel shrimp eats on it at night...
