What is wrong with my leather? It won't open... It's constantly shedding.

Would an iodine dip help?

All salt water n reef parameters are normal CA is 500 Ma is 1300..

what is your alk if your calcium is 500? it should be way low. that's probably your problem. what test kit are you using?

Really? The alkalinity is 3.8..

then the calcium kit is off. try a more accurate kit. salifert makes a decent calcium kit.

That's the one I use ;().... I removed the coral. Didn't want to take any chances

It would hurt the other corals if it was dying?

any large decaying piece of matter is going to effect parameters, but it wasn't dying, it was just unhappy. you killed it when you removed it.
so, what happens when you put the next coral in your tank and it doesn't like the parameters, flow, or lighting?
let me know, and i'll come by and trash pick once i get my tank up and running!
