Zooanthus?

how can you tell the difference from Zooanthus and Protopalythoa spp? i got some what i think are zoo but i want to make sure that i will not kill my self.

A 46 gal bow front (Soft coral) reef tank with a 10 gal sump. And a 30 gal (SPS and Clam) reef tank hooked up to the sump of the 46 so they share water.

um.....hate to break it to ya, zoanthids are in the zoanthus family and all members of that family contain palytoxin. protopalythoa, palythoa that's where the paly in palytoxin comes from Just be careful, if you use precautions when handling them, it won't be an issue, I kept zoanthids and palythoa and protopalythoa, before I ever heard of palytoxin.

i thought they were the same until i found a web site that was saying that the difference was the way they were grouped together. the zoo were in a mat like group and the Protopalythoa were broken apart. but they all have the palytoxin. i just got some green ones and i love them and i hope to get some blue ones soon. the lfs has them and every time i go there my mom talks me out of them. something about the color of my rock being purple and pink and the blue not showing up well. but i do not know i love them.
