So when I was visitiing my niece last Decmber we found ourselves having brunch in La Jolla and then driving to the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Along the way she turn to me and says "Do you REALLY want to see the aquarium???"

The following was my answer. There are like 50 photos.

End or Round ONE. Seahorses in Round TWO.

Beautiful so far . Soon, I might have to add some pics of one of my aquarium visits to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.

Moving right along...

First 'real' vacation in years. Not sure WHY I came back to work.
When I mentioned something to my niece about the homeless peopel there she made a remark to the effect of "Yes, but they're homeless in San Diego! <g>. You've got the Pacific Ocean, the bay, the mountains and a year round tourist population downtown. If you have to be homeless this would be the place to be".

I LOVE the leafy sea dragon frontal pic! You need to put that in one of the pic contests, (if we ever have another one that is)!!! :D

Thanks everyone. It's never the camera, but the photographer. I learned that filmis cheap when I was taught by a semi-pro back in college. Of course I was use TriX film (high speed b&W) at the time <g>.
I was taught to take hundreds of photos to get a couple of keepers. I mostly shooting rock concerts at the time, but the same is true today.

Today I use a Nikon D90, portrait setting with a polarizer filter and macro setting when needed. I posted about 50 shots that were post processed in Photoshop of the hundreds that I took. Most were discarded.

It was so tempting. I just wanted to go around back and check out the behind the scenes work. The tidepool is great especially for kids. They have volunteers adding/removing stuff and explaining each animal, it's haibitat, food source, etc. and they let the kids touch some of them.
