failed parenting

yes and no.... they are fanning them to keep them viable but when they do that they knock some off. the ones falling they eat. one of these days they will get it right.
 
i feel your pain mgamer, im having the same sort of problems with my kribensis, they look after the eggs till they hatch and then bring the fry out when they are free swimming, then they just seem to stop looking after them properly and the numbers will fall as the days pass, after about 4 or 5 tries i have only had 3 young ones survive, and are growing nicely now, but i just wish that one day i could have all, if not most, of the fry survive.
 
have you thought about removing the fry and growing them out in another tank?
