I was trying to find posts/articles on the effect of using a flash for tank pictures. I couldn't find one, so I am posting.
Can using a flash be detrimental to some of the nocturnal inhabitants ie. brittlestars? I seem to get the best pics when I use the flash, but I only use it sparingly as I am worried that I might be stressing something.

Don't know for sure, but I'd guess it would bother them only if you saw something freeking out. Jumping after the flash. I don't think there'd be a problem.

Plus, there are lighning storms in nature, right? Just not 2 inches from them....lol
