Sps corals need more calcium and alkalinity is used at a similar rate. In an sps dominant tank more dosing will need to be done to keep up with the demands.

Yeah, they won't grow faster unless things are actually missing from the system and you dose it. sorry, I left a big part of that out lol.

Okay guys i just wanted to say that the dino that was suffocating my corals is 90% gone. We got rid of it by doing twice the amount of waterchanges (pain) and cutting feeding down by 1/2. Im happy its almost gone because if it had stayed much longer i think we would have lost a few :/

I dont think i have used my rodi unit as much as you have... Whenever i initially fill up a tank i just go buy the water. Its easier an probably cheaper. Im probably close to changing it... But doesnt it last a year?? I used mine in january...

Oh, I bought mine in November. I went on the site and the first 3 filtration parts are 6-12 months, the di is 500 gallons to 1000. I know I've gone over 500, and my water isn't the best. The replacement is 37$ and comes with an extra di resin so its probably better to be safe than sorry. I found out cyano consumes metals in the tank and the di is supposed to take those metals out, so I'm guessing that's my issue.

Alright i see... Well i will probably buy it when i start to see some cyano, right now i have very little cyano/dino. Hopefully my rodi holds up for a little while longer :/
