60 gallons with a tank divider. Fresh water.

Looks pretty good, but a background or painting the back would be a big improvement.

Paint the outside of the tank, so fish will be fine

I read somewhere that a background on a tank can help make your fish feel more secure. I guess it helps them to feel hidden?

I have used both. I like both! It just depends on the look you want. Sand seems easier to clean.
