Looks like some variation of a kenya tree coral.. but i could be wrong. Idk..

But if it's anything at all like other soft corals... or any other coral for that matter, yes, it will grow/get bigger. Will take some time though.. coral are generally pretty slow growers. Especially SPS.

looks like orange cauliflower possibly. Closer picture once it extends would help.
