pics from a short kayak trip

These were taken in Dutch Harbor and around Dutch Island, which is a small island between Jamestown (where I live) and Narragansett (where I work). The island was a military fort in WWII and you can still see some of the old buildings (although not from right at the shore where I was). it was a pretty day and I think I stopped to take pics more than I paddled!

Those are great pictures. What kind of camera did you bravely take with you?

Great pictures! I love sailing so seeing all those sailboats makes me wish it was warm enough here to go sailing.

Wonderful pics! I like the bird and the lighthouse ones the best. The sky looked beautiful that day!

Thanks guys....the camera is a Panasonic DMC FZ5, it has a 12x optical zoom and image stabilization which is great for outdoor stuff. It is not so good at taking pics inside, but does OK. The kayak has a day hatch right behind the cockpit so the camera stays dry in there until I take it out to use it, and I always wipe it off with a damp paper towel when I get back (salty fingers!).
