Keep trying...

Really, I was trying to get some nice close up pics of my fish one night and I took nearly 150 photos. I kept about 8 of them. You have to be patient. To me, it seems like every time I have a perfect shot lined up, another fish swims right in the line of view as I snap the shutter. The other thing that happens is that just as I snap the shutter on a still fish, the little guy takes off like a bat outta **** and is just a streak on the photo. Just be patient and you'll eventually get some decent photos.

Try to take pics of something else.

If I try to get pics of the pleco, the loaches get in the way; if I try to take pics of the loachs the angels get in the way, and so on [acronym:2b8266cf60="Laughing out loud"]LOL[/acronym:2b8266cf60]

Seriously, patience is truly a virtue here. You may also want to check the photography section for camera tips. Good luck!

hockeydude, one of the first things to do is to know your cameras limits. Every camera has its limist as far as focus lenght, etc. Often we as photographers try to get to close for the camera to properly photo graph.

Aonther thing would be to take photos with the lights off in the room and the only light being that from the tank. This usuallyhelps so you dont need a flash. If you do use flash dont be square with the tank because the glass will flash the flash back at you.

could you describe your issues with clear photos and maybe we can target your advice.
