I wouldn't really recommend it, but it is possible. A large size difference can make mating difficult due to the way the male has to wrap around the female, and a much larger male may be more likely to kill the female if the courtship gets rough.

I just got a black orchid crowntail yesterday! My first betta in years.
He does not look this blue...I was holding the light up sideways




He looks more black with blue highlights like this

Here's a couple of Males I've been waiting to get females for to breed them. One is a cambodian based red copper HM and the other is a black based DT
