I feel Half your water thrown away weekly
and too much filtration is the golden rule

But yes also

Filter floss, purigen and carbon
Quality food that doesn't cloud the water when they eat

Even with my over stocked levels, the golden rule keeps water clear and never an odor ever

In the aqua clear 110 I use

Factory sponge
Filter floss
Bio rings
Filter Floss
Two small bags (purigen and carbon)
Then filter floss again

All jammed in there
Times two filters

55g still fishless cycling. :-( But I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out, can't wait to get some fish friends in there.Click image for larger version
