Exactly. I started with one 20 watt floodlight but found that the wood shaded the back left so I added a 10 watt. I really love em so far. I paid more for the bulbs in my old 2 x T5 fixture than for both of the floodlight, and my plants are growing better.

Here's my 40G tank. First time of revealing to the public after a bit of a reshuffle inside.

Feel like it's not quite complete though, something's missing but not sure what. Suggestions/feedback welcome!

Looks good! Here's my suggestion: Some tall plants in the back right corner, and some crypts to go in the substrate along the front of the tank.

+1. I think something Tallinn the far right would look great. I also think some red crypts would add a nice contrast. It looks much better than mine the way it is though so do whatever you want.

Hey selhurst, how about a few bottom feeding fish like corey cats or kuhli loaches? Maybe a few shrimp and colorful snails like tiger and zebra nerites would be cool. They'd look nice with the guppies.

CorallineAlgae - I do have 3 salt & pepper corys in there and a troop of bamboo shrimp, they've just come over all camera shy!
