Thanx for the nice comment. I love my tank, but it's still a work in progress. I can't wait til the plants start to take off like the ones in my 30 gallon did. To me, it looks so bare.....

Hogie and Alaris keep telling me to enjoy watching my tank Grow! that I don't have to have a completed tank at the beginning.....etc..... sigh......

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
yeah im a bit impatient myself its my young kimberley who really makes me take stock, and is far more intellegent than thi aging biker

what kind of bike? I'm a Harley wannabe!

My older brother has an anniversary soft tail, and then, he bought a bigger one so he can take his wife riding with him.

sigh......

One of these days, I'll be rich and famous, and can afford to have a bike of my own.....of course, by then, I'll be tied to a hospital bed in some nursing home to keep me from going out the doors in my underwear!

lol

So it seems like most people go with a saltwater tank, if they are expecrienced in fish and auqautic life? I could never imagine what kind of money/work is put into something like Rheztrees(sp?). So can a freshwater tank look as good as some of these? If so, id like to see them...

I have a SW reef tank. I have had a FW planted tank. I will take the SW over the FW because the SW is easier to deal with. Ask some of the folks here that have those amazing planted tanks what kind of money/work they put into them.

Ziggy is right.

Planted tanks for example can be complicated and expensive at first to start up and then it can take weeks/months to get everything dailed in just right but eventually it all settles down and you just get to enjoy it.....the real sickness for me is that just when I get it workin for me is when I get bored and want to start another tank or re-scape or something. Take a look around the site though, there are some AMAZING tanks in SW and FW.

I expect a SW Reef would be the most expensive due to lighting but the upgraded lights for planted tanks can run pretty comparable in price. So it's really your preference if you have patience and a willingness to learn, you can do which ever you put your mind to.
The imporant thing to consider is the long term maintenance which can wear on folks. I spend $30-40 at a time on new plants usually and that is every few months when I want to try something new. So it's not really much cheaper than a reef in the long run.
